Journey of S N Vidyapeedom English Medium School

SN Samskarika Samithy ,Karthikapally Unit was founded on 28th January 1981 . S N Vidyapeedom was started by the samithy in the same year in a rented building at Vayalakath compound near the K.S.R.T.C Bus Station with 66 pupils and two teachers . Now the school is situated in the heart of Kayamkulam town and has become a centre of attraction . The Campus has an area of three acres with well equipped buildings of all facilities . Many activities are undertaken to encourage and develop creativity among children . An active PTA is there which works for the development of the school. Construction of the R. Sankar Memorial building was started in 1986 and its foundation stone was laid by the late Thachadi Prabhakaran MLA on 14.04.1986.The new block wasopened on 20.01.1987 by the late Thachadi Prabhakaran, the Minister for Finance . Though it was a low lying area beside the Inchakkal canal ,it has been converted into a centre of attraction now.

Our Kindergarten is an attractive one. It has been housed in the main block,a self contained one . In 2003 the school was upgraded to an Upper Primary school. To encourage and develop creativity among little children we undertake several activities .Pupils are trained in classical music, Instrumental music and certain art work ,as we have trained teachers in these subjects. We send pupils to sub district Balakalotsava and District Kalotsava every year.

Management

S.N.Vidyapeedom is managed by S.N.Samskarika Samithy ,a voluntary organisation registered under Charitable Societies Act .Its members are Govt:Servants or Quasi Govt.Servants. Despite their regular official work ,they find time to look after the three institutions. The late Puthoor Divakaran was the first Principal. In 1983 it was shifted to the present site. It was recognised by the State Govt. in 1983.The motive of this institution is to impart education to the poor and oppressed and to make an ideal society based on the guidelines of Sree Narayana Guru.

Dedicated and Experienced Staff

Besides the Principal there are 32 teachers,6 ayahs,2 watchers,2clerks, a scavenger and a peon.

Celebrating Excellence in Award Fest

Every year Merit awards are distributed by S.N.Samskarika Samithy to the toppers of SSLC Examination of 33 High Schools of Karthikappally Taluk and to the toppers of S.N. Vidyapeedom , S.N. Central School and S .N International Model School and to the children of Samithy members. Similarly Educational Scholorship worth Rs1000 - 2000 is given to economically poor students of both schools.
